The Haraway Brothers Debut Album Release & Show in Atlanta

On Saturday, June 17, Will & Lee Haraway, who founded the great Atlanta rock ‘n roll band, The Sundogs, will celebrate their debut record together, titled The Haraway Brothers Wish You Love & Luck in the World at the fantastic, ornate Vista Room in Decatur, GA.
The show starts at 8 PM with a set from the Bradley Cole Smith Band and then the Haraway Brothers come on at 9 PM, doing every song from the new album, plus some Sundogs tunes and some fun choice covers. Following that set, both bands will take the stage together for a Thank You For Coming set of the danciest Grateful Dead tunes in their entire catalog. It will be a huge night of music!

Released on May 5, The Haraway Brothers’ Wish You Love & Luck in the World is exactly what the title describes, a sincere wish and a shot of good, positive vibes for everyone that lets music into their ears and hearts. Smart, funny and occasionally sad songwriting is buoyed by brilliant brotherly harmonies, heartbreaking pedal steel guitar and searing guitar leads from Benji Shanks (who also produced the album) that would make the late great Waylon Jennings cry. If you’re on board with Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Ryan Bingham and BJ Barham, The Haraway Brothers Wish You Love & Luck in the World will be an instant addition to your listening universe. For more information on the new album, visit www.harawaybrothers.com.

The Sundogs present the Tom Petty Show in Atlanta

sundogs-tps16_posterThe Sundogs return to Smith’s Olde Bar on Friday, Dec. 9 to play the songs of the great Tom Petty. You’ll get the full Sundog on this fine evening with Lee, Will, Jon, Benji, Kevin and Kevin giving you all the hits, some of the b-sides and all of the awesomeness from our very favorite songwriter and rocker. Opening the show at 8:30 sharp will be our buddies Wayne Glass and Alan Conner’s new band Shadowlands followed by the fine band Amsterdam Station.
“Friday night was the third annual Tom Petty Show and the Sundogs dished out a selection of tunes covering Petty’s entire catalog. If you wanted classic petty then you got “American Girl”, “Only The Losers” and “Don’t Do Me Like That”. Folks that came of age in the 80’s were thrilled to hear “You Got Lucky”, “Don’t Come Around Here No More” and “Runnin’ Down A Dream”. They had the crowd singing along with “Last Dance For Mary Jane” and “Free Fallin'” then brought out Mimi Thomas for a damn fine “Stop Dragging My Heart Around”. These dudes hit on every song the crowd wanted to hear and they nailed the Heartbreaker’s sound with jangly guitars, keyboards and sweet vocal harmonies.” — Chris Martin, Atlanta Examiner

The Sundogs’ Halloween Spectacular

Sundogs

On Friday, October 30th, The Sundogs will host a Halloween rock and roll spectacular at the venerable live music landmark Smith’s Olde Bar. It’s Atlanta, so sure, there’s a lot going on, but we’re the only entertainment option with fist-pumping rock tunes on the docket. We’ll start Halloween off right, bringing you the big fun well before (and after) the witching hour of the 31st.

Clever costumes, Halloween covers and all of our best rock songs played with a frenzied amount of demonically fun Halloween spirit. Opening the show will be Oliver’s Antics, followed by our new friends from the Len Pridgen Band, all celebrating the black magic. So come in costume!

The Sundogs released their 3rd recording, “Cut & Run” this summer, which you can stream for free on their website, www.sundogs.net.

From Chris Martin, Atlanta Examiner:
“Part of what makes the Sundogs’ music so enjoyable is how they work as one. By sharing time on lead, embracing backing vocals and switching instruments the band creates a cohesive sound that is built around jangly guitars and catchy melodies.”

Across the room is a plush seating lounge with black leather sofas, sophisticated crystal chandeliers, fireplace, and library wall.

Burn Tapas“Inspired by the supper clubs of the 30s and 40s, Burn is a true social club where guests gather to socially eat and drink, be entertained and enjoy the company of friends,” said Andrews Entertainment District President Steve de Haan. “Burn was created as a nightlife alternative.  Atlanta doesn’t lack for places to take a date for dinner, but does not have many upscale venues to go to after dinner where the energy is high, yet is still intimate enough to carry on a conversation.  A place to be entertained by true performers, and not just musicians, our goal is to marry the timeless sophistication of Prohibition with premier entertainment and dancing.”

Located in the heart of Buckhead, Andrews Entertainment District is a world class destination with exceptional dining, entertainment, and nightlife. With diverse and distinct venues conveniently located in over 30,000 square feet under one roof, Andrews Entertainment District is the home of The Atlanta Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre, Stout Irish Sports Bar, Cellar 56Czar Ice Bar,  Stillhouse Craft Burgers & Moonshine,  Burn Social ClubProhibition, and Sal’s Pizzeria.
