Favorite Isle of Palms, SC Restaurant Transitions to New Name as Cuisine Style Shifts

Guests who have been to Acme Cantina recently have noticed subtle changes to the menu. As Executive Chef Frank Kline started to focus on more locally farmed contemporary cuisine, Acme added Lowcountry to the restaurant’s name. Today, the owners are changing the eatery’s name to Acme Lowcountry Kitchen as they completely re-brand their concept.

“Over the past two years our menu has transformed substantially from Tex-Mex to localize coastal cuisine,” said co-owner Rodger Tully. “We just don’t feel that Cantina is the right descriptive word for our brand anymore.”
Acme Lowcountry Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily with flavor profiles that exemplify fresh local ingredients with a strong presence towards seafood. The restructured lunch and dinner menus combine elements of traditional Lowcountry cuisine with classic fare offered at reasonable prices in a casual beach atmosphere. Additionally, there are weekly specials that include an Early Bird Special weekdays, Kids Eat Free on Mondays and Lobster Night on Thursdays.  Additionally, there is a full premium bar, TVs for sports and occasionally live music.

“We are concentrating on more of what our market demanded, which is high end cuisine at reasonable prices combined with casual, yet flavorful menu items,” said Executive Chef Frank Kline. “For those seeking a tasty bite at the beach, our restaurant has completely changed our focus, food, attitude and atmosphere.”

With a Bachelors of Science from the University of South Carolina, Executive Chef Frank Kline has worked within the culinary industry for 16 years. During this time he learned every aspect of restaurant operations. He began his career purchasing wines for culinary pairings within Crew Carolina. He later honed his skills at other Charleston area establishments when managing The Boathouse at Breach Inlet under Executive Chef Charles Arena and recreating Carolina’s with Chef Jeremiah Bacon (of Oak, Macintosh, Per Se, and Le Bernadin). Now he uses his vast experience to create the best overall dining experience for his clientele. An award-winning chef, Frank’s focused style is the new Southern movement of creating immense flavor from fresh, local ingredients.

Charleston’s Best Blues & Jazz Bar presents Down Home Blues Open Mic & Guitar Clinic

Eskimo Advertising Anouncement

Charleston, SC, November 4, 2010 – Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ introduces a Down Home Blues Open Mic and Guitar Clinic with bluesman Steve Cheseborough on Tuesdays, November 23rd, 30th and December 7th at 2209 Middle Street on Sullivan’s Island. At 6pm, guests meet and greet with Steve and receive a brief blues lesson and then at 7pm can get on stage to sing the blues or listen to others during the blues open mic until 8pm. The evenings will wind up with a set from the master himself from about 9-10pm. These are nights to come sing the blues, get a lesson in how to play them or just sit back and listen while enjoying award-winning BBQ and fine libations such as the famous frozen painkiller!

Bluesman, author, and professor, Steve Cheseborough is steeped in the music of Memphis Minnie, Muddy Waters, Charley Jordan, Bo Carter, Robert Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Lemon Jefferson and the other great blues artists and works from their original recordings as well as his experience in Delta juke joints. Steve Cheseborough plays the 1920s-30s-style acoustic blues, sounding eerily like an old 78 record, but without the scratches.

Home Team BBQ provides Southern comfort food, a fun bar, rustic atmosphere and great entertainment including the best sports and music with up-and-coming blues, bluegrass, rock, country, and alternative country artists weekly. While Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ’s menu accommodates every appetite with traditional, authentic BBQ, ribs, chicken and pulled pork, both locations also feature a larger menu of tempting choices of appetizers, salads, quesadillas and tacos as well as down home, finger lickin’ sides and tasty desserts. Additionally, Home Team BBQ offers large party takeout orders and full service catering with delivery.

To find out more about the event, music or Steve Cheseborough, contact him at chezztone@gmail.com or visit www.stevecheseborough.com.
