6th Annual Dana G. Smith Cancer Assistance Fundraiser At SweetWater Brewing Company

The 6th Annual Dana G. Smith Cancer Assistance Fundraiser will be held at SweetWater Brewing Company on Tuesday, September 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Help support the many folks struggling in their fight against cancer by attending this year’s event. Come enjoy great tunes from Doublewide and tasty food and unlimited beer. This year there will be two donation options, regular $25 or VIP $40. The VIP’s admission includes a DGS Fund t-shirt, signature souvenir pint glass, great beer and food plus a raffle ticket for a chance to win a great prize! All donations go directly to support the Dana G. Smith Fund.

The DGS Fund is named in loving memory of Dana G. Smith who lost her battle with cancer in July 2006. Before passing, Dana created the DGS Fund to help those who cannot pay their basic bills because their money is being spent on their cancer treatment. In 2010, the DGS Fund raised over $64,000 and has helped over 200 people pay their doctor and prescription co-pays, home utility and rent payments, childcare, insurance premiums, companion services, counseling and much more. As cancer treatment is expensive and insurance doesn’t always cover everything, help is needed for cancer patients struggling to pay their bills as a result of outstanding medical expenses. With help from those touched by Dana, her story and her cause, the fund has lifted weight off shoulders, elevated spirits and lengthened lives. All donations will go to Piedmont Hospital Foundations, Inc.
