A Rat Pack New Years Eve Celebration in Atlanta

The Sundogs Celebrate the Life & Music of Tom Petty

On Friday, December 8th at Smith’s Olde Bar, The Sundogs will present THE TOM PETTY SHOW, for the 8th consecutive year and certainly most emotional and important. On this evening, The Sundogs will look to channel all of those emotions into an incredible rock ‘n roll show filled with his hits, rarities and b-sides with a full house singing along to every damned word.

Keeping it in the family this year, The Haraway Brothers will open the show at 9 PM with a set from their
latest release “The Haraway Brothers Wish You Love & Luck in the World.”

This is a special show, so we urge you to buy TICKETS in advance. VIP tables are also available for groups.

Tom never quit, never rested on his laurels and never stopped trying to top himself. THAT’s the spirit The Sundogs will bring to this show.

Adamandeve.com Asks: How Old Were You When You First Had Sex?

Adamandeve.com, America’s most trusted source for adult products, is back this month with new results from its annual sex survey. This time, the company asked over 1,000 adults how old they were when they first had sexual intercourse, and the results may surprise you. Only 2% of the females and 5% of the males polled said they lost their virginity before age 13. Most of the respondents, 52% of the females and 49% of the males, admitted they first had sex between age 13 and 18. Thirty-eight percent of the females and 34% of the males said they first had intercourse between age 18 and 23, and 8% of the women and 12% of the men were over age 23. The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.

“As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I find these numbers encouraging,” says Dr. Kat Van Kirk, resident sexologist for Adam & Eve. “Sex is an amazing, powerful gift, but one that teenagers – especially young teenagers – are often ill-equipped to handle.”

“Engaging in sexual activity before you are ready physically and emotionally can lead to a number of long term issues,” continues Dr. Kat. “I’m pleased to see that more young people are choosing to wait to have sex than in years past.”

Adam & Eve stores provide a safe, friendly environment for women, men and couples to explore romance and erotica. With everything from lingerie to bachelor and bachelorette gifts to instructional manuals and toys & games designed specifically to re-ignite the spark, Adam & Eve stores has something for the sensualists in everyone. Adam & Eve maintains the integrity that its customers have come to expect over the years.

Amalfi Pizza Offers Pay What You Can Meals to Irma Evacuees

Amalfi Pizza welcomes Hurricane Irma evacuees and invites individuals and families to come and have a meal for whatever they feel they can pay on the food portion of their bill (excluding alcoholic beverages). This offer is valid to anyone in town from mandatory evacuation zones. All they need to do is ask for a manager and show a valid ID from one of the areas affected.

“Our hearts go out to those displaced by Hurricane Irma and understand the struggles they are experiencing,” said Amalfi Pizza founding partner Stephen de Haan. “This is our way of welcoming evacuees to the Amalfi family with a warm meal that could make them feel at home and welcome in our city.”

Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner in downtown Atlanta, Amalfi Pizza is a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria centered around two 6000 pound wood-burning brick ovens imported from Italy that were lifted into the second floor space by cranes. The 170 seat dining room has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Co-founder and operating partner Greg Grant developed an authentic Italian menu that will include Neapolitan-style pizzas as well as appetizers, salads, pasta dishes and original desserts. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. In addition to traveling to Naples and throughout the entire region to find the best ingredients, both Stephen de Haan and Greg Grant staged with the Italian Pizzaiolo Maestros at Pizzeria Mattozzi, established in 1830, and Pizzeria Da Attilo. This apprenticeship, along with studying in the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, have allowed their passion for food to develop into the skills necessary to bring this historic, simple, and beautifully executed street food to Atlanta.

Vintage Hospitality Group Joins Share the Gulf Initiative and James Beard’s Smart Catch Program

As Vintage Hospitality Group is dedicated to the community by providing the best to its clientele, its Executive Chef Eric Rivera will be heading to Washington to represent Alabama by joining fisherman and other chefs from around the Gulf to speak with congressional staff about key sustainability issues that directly affect the Gulf and the area’s seafood. The trip is through the Share the Gulf Initiative, a coalition of chefs, restaurateurs, seafood businesses, fishermen conservationists and consumers who want to keep the local Gulf fishing and seafood industries fair and strong. The trip and initiative are important as Vintage Year is known for fresh seafood and is passionate about where it comes from and those who supply it.  Vintage Hospitality Group is committed to sourcing local and domestically sustainable products first.

“We are proud and grateful to have the gulf so close that we need to protect its fishing and seafood industries,” said Chef Rivera. “That’s why we are also now a member of the James Beard’s Smart Catch program that has a similar goal of increasing the sustainability of the seafood supply chain.”

Share the Gulf was launched to raise awareness of and support for local fishing businesses, restaurants, grocery stores and the communities who depend on Gulf seafood. Better management of commercial fishing and new progress by charter fishermen are keeping both industries within sustainable limits. But a broken system for managing recreational fishing has led to years of unsustainable overages, angering everyone, especially anglers. The initiative believes that if groups sit down and work together we can give recreational anglers the flexibility and certainty they want and deserve while ensuring Americans can continue to enjoy red snapper and other Gulf seafood now and into the future.

The idea for James Beard’s Smart Catch is simple and powerful as the program provides training and support to chefs so they can serve seafood fished or farmed in environmentally-responsible ways. With more than 90 percent of the world’s fisheries either fully fished or overfished, preserving marine life to assure stable fishing stocks and promoting sustainably farmed options is more important than ever. By earning the Smart Catch emblem, chefs give consumers a simple way to identify and support their restaurants. Through Smart Catch, chefs have a chance to use their influence to lead industry efforts to maintain healthy, sustainable food sources both for now and for future generations. They will be able to expand not only palates, but also views.

Vintage Hospitality Group’s team of Proprietor Jud Blount, Executive Chef Eric Rivera and General Managers Chase Brown and Bryan Wooden have 45 years of combined experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. While Vintage Hospitality Group’s flagship restaurant Vintage Year is a fine dining, Vintage Café will be a coffee shop, daytime eatery and retail store. Vintage Hospitality Group is dedicated to providing guests with the finest hand-cut meats, the freshest seafood, premium coffees, specialty teas, outstanding wines and spirits along with excellent customer service.
