Moe’s Original BBQ Opens Dining Room using Clean Well’s Latest Disinfection Technology

As Gov. Kemp allows the restaurant industry to open doors today, Moe’s Original BBQ in Midtown invites customers to enjoy its dining room and patio from 11am-9pm daily while providing the safest environment possible. This is made possible with the hiring of Clean Well services as its certified disinfecting company. Clean Well has applied EPA approved Monofoil, a safe, yet powerful solution that bonds to most surfaces providing a germ barrier for 30-60 days. In addition to monthly applications, Moe’s will also be using a daily Monofoil disinfectant before opening and at close to follow the disinfecting protocol set forth by Clean Well. Additionally as recommended, Moe’s Original BBQ will be following all CDC and state guidelines which include all employees wearing masks and gloves, tables separated by six feet, limiting the amount of people in the restaurant as well as limiting parties to six or less at tables.

“After careful research, we sought after the most qualified resource with superior products and services to disinfect our restaurant,” said Moe’s Original BBQ owner Brett Mancuso. “We feel by partnering with Clean Well, Moe’s is receiving an ongoing disinfection solution, not just a one time santization.”

Recognized with many awards, Moe’s Original BBQ has been named in the Top 10 BBQ Chains in America by USA Today and The Daily Meal, one of the fastest growing, emerging restaurant chains by Restaurant Business Magazine, and one of the Top 10 Rib Joints in the U.S. by Relish. Served with red BBQ and Alabama white sauces, the award-winning smoked menu features pulled pork, ribs, wings, turkey and chicken as well as fried pickles, salads, nachos, stuffed potatoes, catfish and a shrimp sandwich. Prepared fresh daily, a rotation of 60 traditional Southern sides and house made desserts are also offered.

CleanWell is the exclusive supplier in the Southeast of a nano-technology based cleaner called monofoil.  Monofoil•D cleans and disinfects surfaces with an antimicrobial shield leaving surfaces cleaner longer. CleanWell’s professional team is trained in the specific application needed to create the long lasting effects.

7th Annual Firkin Fest Announced in Mobile, AL

Moe’s Original BBQ and Budweiser Busch Distributing will host the 7th Annual Firkin Festival on Saturday, April 4th at 701 Spring Hill Avenue. The craft beer festival, benefiting the American Cancer Society, features local and regional breweries showcasing distinctive cask ale in a firkin, a barrel made of stainless steel that holds 10.8 gallons of beer. Firkin’s hail from the tradition of cask brewing and use natural fermentation processes to carbonate the beer. The liquid is typically served slightly below room temperature and will have a smoother, lighter carbonated body due to the natural carbonation process. This year’s participating breweries include Black Warrior Brewing Company, Yellowhammer Brewing Company, Ghost Train Brewing Company, Back Forty Brewing Company, Braided River Brewing Company, Avondale Brewing Company, Fairhope Brewing Company, Interstellar Ginger Beer and Exploration Company, Grayton Beer Company, Second Line Brewing and Props Brewing Company.

“Firkin’s have become a cool way for craft brewers to show personality and creativity by adding unique flavors or spins on traditional flagship beers by creating something completely new and different that they traditionally would not release to the market,” said Ian Berg, Craft Representative for Budweiser-Busch Distributing. “It’s also a fun way to introduce the beer loving public to “one-time” only beers that will truly be exclusive to the experience and will never be recreated.”

Doors for the festival will open at 2pm with a tapping ceremony at 2:30pm. Sampling ends at 5:30pm followed by an awards ceremony. Additionally, there will be live music. The all-inclusive Firkin Fest tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at door and includes entrance to the festival, samples of each firkin, crawfish, sample glass, koozie, literature and live music.

Served with red BBQ and Alabama white sauces, Moe’s Original BBQ’s award-winning smoked menu features pulled pork, ribs, wings, turkey and chicken as well as mahi mahi, catfish and shrimp. Down home Southern sides and tasty desserts complete the menu. The 7400 square foot venue is also a popular nightlife spot with full premium bars, high definition TVs and live music. Recognized with many awards, Moe’s Original BBQ has been named one of the Top 10 Rib Joints in the U.S. by Relish and Top 10 BBQ Chains in America by USA Today and The Daily Meal.

Drifter Fest: The Inaugural Bert Griggs Memorial Jam will be held on March 6th-8th in Charleston. The music-filled weekend will celebrate the life of Bert Griggs who died unexpectedly in December. Friday night’s festivities kick off with a pre-jam from 8-11pm at Home Team BBQ’s downtown location featuring several sets of funk favorites from Shonuff band. Doors for the Drifter Fest: The Inaugural Bert Griggs Memorial Jam open at 8pm on Saturday at the Charleston Pour House. Inside the venue from 8:30pm-1am, patrons will enjoy a collaboration of Bert’s favorite tunes from many of his friends including Reid Stone and bands Gaslight Street, The Travelin’ Kine, Shonuff, Solid Country Gold and more. The weekend concludes on Sunday at Reckoning in the Park featuring The Reckoning, an awesome Grateful Dead cover band, from 2pm-5pm in the meadow at James Island County Park. Guests will enjoy a weekend of fun events combined with great company, stories and live music.

Born and raised in Hartsville, Bert Griggs was surrounded by a huge family and lifelong friends as he grew up in the country riding tractors, four-wheelers and being mischievous. Bert later graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Business Administration. He remained in Charleston after college working in all aspects of the hospitality industry for Charlestowne Hotels. It wasn’t long before the mountains called his name and he headed to Jackson Hole to pursue his love of snowboarding. While there, Bert was the sales and marketing director of a hotel group that gave him the opportunity to travel to world-class ski resorts all over the country as an ambassador for Jackson Hole. He met his wife Lorrie while she was vacationing there from Charleston and discovered they both had a love of traveling to see live music and a plethora of mutual friends. Following a whirlwind romance, they married on April Fools’ Day atop the mountain at Jackson Hole Ski Resort. Together they created Drifter Merch, an apparel company dedicated to their love of music. Soon after, they returned to Charleston where Bert’s passion for graphic design grew as did their business. Their company vended at many local events and handled custom orders for numerous businesses, bands, schools and events. The light of their lives, Harper Grace, was born about a year later. Bert was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Bert had an innate ability to make everyone he met feel like they were the most important person in the room. He never met a stranger. In fact, he was everyone’s best friend. He had the sweetest soul and a tender heart that loved hard and loved deeply. Bert had a unique sense of humor with an infectious laugh and smile that could light up the darkest room. He is deeply missed.
