Each month it chooses a non-profit to donate a percentage of sales. Upcoming recipients include Courageous Kidz in February and Begin with Books during March. Past non-profits receiving funds include My Sister’s House, Share Our Suzy, Center for Women and Be A Mentor.

Starting in the Fall and each month following, it will choose a non-profit to donate a percentage of sales. The first recipient in September will be My Sister’s House that provides services, programs and resources to empower domestic violence victims and their children to live free from abuse. “While we regularly donate our time, services and gift certificates to various non-profits, I have always felt Low Country Laundry & Dry Cleaners could do more. Rolling out a monthly, structured program is a great way to achieve this,” said owner Courtney Friedman. “I feel that it is important to give back to the community and help out everyone you can. I encourage other businesses to do so as well if you are able to help.”

Low Country Laundry & Dry Cleaners to Hold Aged Inventory Sale

1531365-dry-cleaning-services-liberty-townshipoh-liberty-drycleanEach year, Low Country Laundry & Dry Cleaners clean out all of the clothing that has not been picked up by customers in over a year. From July 20 at 7:30am to July 25 at 6:30pm, the unclaimed clothes will be on the racks in the front lobby of the downtown location at 107 Rutledge Avenue in West Ashley at South Windermere Shopping Center. Shoppers simply come in and look at the available clothing that is already cleaned, pressed, bagged and on hangers. To purchase, patrons pay just the cleaning fees originally on the ticket.

“We will hold the sale all week with everything from Prada hand bags from $40 and super nice clothing for just the cleaning cost such as $2.65 for a shirt, $5.65 for pants, sweaters, silk blouses and $10.50 for suits,” said owner Courtney Friedman. “Additionally, we will also be pulling clothing to donate to the ladies at My Sister’s House!”

My Sister’s House Announces 4th Annual Bubbly and Brew in Charleston

My Sister’s House presents the 4th Annual Bubbly and Brew sponsored by Lucey Mortgage Corporation on Friday, September 28th from 7-11pm at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant. Guests will dine on tasty food selections from Home Team BBQ, High Thyme Cuisine, Rue de Jean, Long Island Cafe, The Glass Onion, Kudzu Bakery and more as well as sip on champagne, wine, and beers from local brewers. Additionally, there will be a live and silent auction plus live music from party band Love Butter. Tickets are $60 in advance or $75 at the door.

My Sister’s House announces 2nd Annual Bubbly & Brew Event in Charleston, SC

My Sister’s House presents the 2nd Annual Bubbly and Brew on Thursday, October 7th from 6-10:30pm at Omar Shrine Temple in Mount Pleasant, SC. Guests will dine on tasty food selections from High Thyme, Home Team BBQ, Gullah Cuisine, and Glass Onion as well as sip on champagne, cocktails from Firefly Distillery and beers from Stone Brewery, Pearlstine Distributors and Sweetwater Brewing Company. My Sister’s House is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that offers free and confidential services, programs and resources to empower victims of domestic violence and their children to live free from abuse. Serving victims in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties in South Carolina, My Sister’s House has been successful in providing for the basic physical needs of food, shelter, and clothing for abused women and their children, while also addressing psychological needs of self-esteem, autonomy, self-respect, self-worth and ultimately, self-actualization since 1980.
