ASAP Heating and Air Hires New Sales Manager in Columbia, SC

ASAP Heating and Air is pleased to announce that Jonathan Smoak has taken on the responsibility of Sales Manager. In this role, he will lead the sales team on performance, business planning, and expansion to deliver sustainable growth. Jonathan brings to ASAP great experience in heavy commercial and industrial markets giving an edge as the company works to bring a more technical solution to its clients in the residential and commercial markets.

“After working with Jonathan roughly ten years ago, I knew that his tenacious work ethic, technical aptitude, and excellent customer service made him the perfect fit to oversee and implement our future sales initiatives,” said ASAP Heating and Air President Ryan Hudson. “I see our combined efforts being an impactful resource for our clients and the Columbia market.”

Jonathan Smoak graduated from University Of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a minor in Sales Engineering. Upon graduation, Jonathan took a role with Carrier Building Systems and Services in an inside sales support role, learning the ropes of the HVAC industry before soon moving into a Service Sales Engineer position. Later in his career, Jonathan moved to Johnson Controls to fill an Owner Account Representative role where he was responsible for developing and executing turnkey mechanical, controls and energy solutions projects and service agreements in markets ranging from K-12 and higher education to industrial manufacturing.

ASAP Heating and Air Hires New General Manager in Columbia, SC

Columbia, SC, September 26, 2018 – ASAP Heating and Air welcomes Eddie Benton as the new General Manager for the company effective October 1st. Utilizing the tools gained through various leadership positions, he steps out of retirement to bring broad-based experience from a number of different industries. With a vast background in accounting and strategic planning, his role will help strengthen ASAP’s financial and operational teams.

“I was searching for an integrator, someone who understands numbers and people,” said ASAP Heating and Air President Ryan Hudson. “With his expansive resume, Eddie was the perfect solution.”

Benton started his business career with General Telephone & Electric (GTE), now Verizon Communications, before coming to Columbia in 1992 to manage a large cardiology practice that grew to become the Columbia Heart Clinic. In 2001, he left that position to become the Chief Operating Officer for Nexsen Pruet, a large Columbia-based law firm with 9 different offices throughout the Carolinas. After a brief stint as consultant to a Christian ministry in Cleveland, OH in 2009, he returned to Columbia in 2010 to assume the role of COO with the law firm of Collins & Lacy. In 2016, he accepted the same role with another Columbia-based law firm before retiring to do private business consulting in late 2017. Benton holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, a M.A. in Counselor Administration from Appalachian State University, a B.A. in Finance from Georgia Southern University, and a M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

ASAP Heating and Air announces its expansion with the acquisition of GreenHome Solutions. ASAP Heating and Air knew the importance of advancing its HVAC company through a buy out as a smart path for growth. With the opportunity to cultivate complementary core businesses, the cutting edge company now provides increased knowledge with a diversified staff, world-class technology capabilities, and enhanced customer service as it brings together the expertise of two thriving companies. GreenHome Solutions’ former owner Ryan Hudson has taken on the responsibility of President for ASAP’s expanded entity.

Ryan Hudson started his professional career at Mechanical Engineering Consulting Associates (MECA Inc.) after earning his bachelor’s degree in computational physics with a minor in mathematics from Francis Marion University. While working full time for MECA, Ryan earned his master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in theoretical physics with emphasis in business management. With an interest in thermal dynamics, Ryan went on to work in the heavy industrial sector of Carrier Corporation for over a decade where he was one of the highest sales producers in the nation. While there, he founded GreenHome Solutions, a technology-based residential heating and cooling company that saw significant growth in its two years of existence.

“With vast experience and a lot of forward thinking ideas, Ryan and GreenHome Solutions were a perfect fit for ASAP as we ventured to push the residential and light commercial envelope in the local Columbia market,” said ASAP Heating and Air owner Lander Cason. “Our goal with this acquisition was to create a new sector of engineering, design, and customer focus which the industry had not yet seen in this market.”
