Charleston Culinary Tours presents a special Taste of the Market on June 19th at 6-8:30pm at the Palmetto Carriage lot on Anson Street by the City Market that celebrates local civil servants, military personnel, hometown heroes and community leaders. For devotion to duty and sacrifice of self, they will receive a discounted admission of $5 (saving $5) and other giveaways with uniform or ID badge. Additionally, Charleston Culinary Tours is offering 10% off on culinary tours and 20% off any Mixology Tour in May, June or July with sign up at the Taste of the Market. The mission of the Taste of the Market is for City Market area restaurants, the local community, businesses and tourists to come together every third Thursday of the month at a distinct, family friendly event that provides an unlimited sampling of local fare, live music and raffles that occur throughout the event.
“Participating restaurants and shops in and around the Charleston Market area include 82 Queen, Molly Darcy’s, Another Broken Egg, The Peanut Shop of Charleston, Holy City Popcorn, It’s Sugar, Noisy Oyster, Mad River, AW Shucks, Lowcountry Bistro, Tabbuli, Charleston Crab House, Burwell’s Stone Fire Grill, Sweet CeCe’s and Mac’s Place,” said Taste of the Market organizer Glenn Morehead. “Additionally, this event is also a catalyst for the Hospitality Heroes Fund, an organization that lends a helping hand to local hospitality employees and their families who are impacted by a medical hardship.”
Charleston Culinary Tours combine the best of Charleston history, cocktails and food with unique tours that highlight the Lowcountry. Each Charleston Culinary Tour visits several different restaurants, bars or the Farmer’s Market to combine elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure. On each tour, guests will not only have an opportunity to sample some of the Lowcountry’s finest offerings, but also to meet the owners, chefs and mixologists behind Charleston’s impressive culinary and bar innovations.
