Musical Artists Announced for the 5th Annual Drifter Fest: Bert Griggs Memorial Jam

The 5th Annual Drifter Fest: Bert Griggs Memorial Jam returns to Charleston on September 5th–7th with a dynamic lineup of live music, celebrating the life and legacy of the late Drifter Merch founder Bert Griggs. The festival kicks off on Friday with a free pre-jam event featuring Machine Funk “A Tribute to Widespread Panic” at Home Team BBQ downtown starting at 6 p.m. The main event takes place on Saturday at the Refinery Amphitheater with a lineup that includes progressive improvisational rock/jam band Big Something headlining along with local favorites Kanika Moore & The Brown Eyed Bois, and Just Groove. Doors open at 5 p.m., with music from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. After-parties will follow each night at The Commodore from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Then on Sunday, the festive weekend wraps up with a free show featuring Junco Partner at Vickery’s on Shem Creek from 4-7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 9th at DrifterFest.com/tickets. General Admission is $30 in advance, $40 on the day of show. With limited availability, $60 VIP tickets are 21 and older only and include GA access, second-level rooftop viewing area overlooking the event with private VIP bar, inside bathrooms, seating, VIP parking, and commemorative laminate.

4th Annual Drifter Fest Announced in Charleston

The 4th Annual Drifter Fest: Bert Griggs Memorial Jam will be on Saturday, September 14th at the Refinery Amphitheater. A pre-jam will take place on Friday, September 13th at Home Team BBQ. Both events will start at 7pm and end at 11pm in Downtown Charleston. There will also be after parties each night at The Commodore. While the musical line up and ticketing will be announced soon, sponsorship and vending opportunities are available now.

Drifter Fest celebrates the life of the late Bert Griggs. A huge fan of live music, he turned his passion into a well-received apparel and accessories company, Drifter Merch, that was inspired by his favorite bands. Additionally, Bert was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He had an innate ability to make everyone he met feel like they were the most important person in the room. Bert never met a stranger. In fact, he was everyone’s best friend. He had the sweetest soul and a tender heart that loved hard and deeply. Bert had a unique sense of humor with an infectious laugh and smile that could light up the darkest room.
