Moe’s Original BBQ & Blues Revue Daphne June Music Schedule

June Music Calendar
All shows are free unless noted.

June 4th- Jeremy Higginbotham 7:00

June 5th – Big Muddy 7:00
Big Muddy is a combination of blues, soul, Southern rock and country music
featuring some of the best musicians in the Southeast. They have just complete
their first CD together that showcases their song writing, instrumental and vocal
abilities. Together, they bring over 100 years of musical experience to every show.

June 6th – Johnny Barbato and the Lucky Doggs 7:00
Born in Baton Rouge, LA and raised in New Orleans, the Louisiana roots still
run deep in both Johnny’s vocal style and songwriting. Moving to Alabama in the mid-70s proved to be the
turningpoint and today Johnny runs his group up and down the coast with boundaries expanding as they
just signed a record deal.
June 11th – 7:00 Fat Man Squeeze
Fat Man Squeeze is an eclectic, bluegrass band from lower Alabama. Their
style is an “innovative, newgrass blend” that fuses flat picking bluegrass
with rock, rock-a-billy, country and blues.

June 12th – Lee Yankie 7:00
Lee is a fantastic songwriter and has a great band that plays blues, jazz, and funk.

June 13th – Blues Old Stand 7:00
Their sometimes ruckus, sometimes intimate but always soulful blend of
deep funk, roots rock and screamin’ blues made them one of the Southern
college circuit’s favorite live acts. Blues Old Stand has expanded their sound
over the years, keeping their music fresh, and avoiding the tired genre clichés
striving to create 21st century Funkin’ Blues, using everything from slide guitar
and harmonicas to samples and live ethnic percussion. The mission of Blues
Old Stand is to keep it funky while staying true to their Southern Blues heritage.

June 19th and 20th – LC Ulmer Blues Band 7:00 $5 cover
LC has quickly become a Moe’s BBQ favorite and returns for two nights with two fantastic musicians:
Justin Showahon bass and Kinny Kimbrough on drums. Justin plays regularly with everyone in  North
Mississippi including Jimbo Mathus, Shannon McNally, Jim Dickinson, Taylor Grocery Band, and many others
and runs Hill Country Records in Water Valley, MS. Kinney Kimbrough is the son of the late great Junior Kimbrough
and played drums for Junior’s band until he passed in 1998 as well as with the Burnsides and Dickinsons.

June 25th – Fat Man Squeeze 7:00

June 26th – Eden Brent 7:00 pm  $5 cover
Eden Brent’s piano playing and singing style ranges from a melancholic whisper
to a full-blown juke joint holler. She’s simultaneously confident and confiding,
ably blending an earthy meld of jazz, blues, soul, and pop as she huskily invites
listeners into her lazy, lush world.

June 27th – RC and The Moonpies 7:00
Great local blues band led by Ricky Chancey.
