Pawleys Island, July 31, 2014 – Located on Highway 17 at 12827 Ocean Highway, Moe’s Original Bar B Que will open its first lowcountry restaurant on August 27th. With an open kitchen layout and a full premium bar, guests can sit inside or on the covered, screened porches to feast on the legendary Alabama-style BBQ and traditional Southern sides. This barrier island restaurant will offer a carefree feel for everyone from families to visitors to come eat a great meal while watching a game or enjoying live music on weekends.
“The Moe’s brand is known for its leisurely, laid-back atmosphere and we knew it would be the perfect for Pawleys Island’s way of life,” said owner Meg Lonon. “Since I have come here for vacation my whole life, I chose this location because I love the area and we have always wanted live and raise our kids here.”
Recognized with many awards, Moe’s Original Bar B Que has been named one of the Top 10 Rib Joints in the U.S. by Relish and Top 10 BBQ Chains in America by Daily Meal and USA Today. Years after learning to fire roast meats in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mike Fernandez, Ben Gilbert and Jeff Kennedy founded Moe’s Original Bar B Que in Vail, Colorado in 2001. The popular restaurant serves up a Southern Soul Food Revival with not only fresh from the pit BBQ but down home sides and desserts from recipes passed down for generations.
