  1. In hiring our nanny, we asked qsuetions very similar to the ones you have listed. We also made sure to verify all information provided on the resumes, ask about past positions and and situations (like what was the worst situation you encountered while watching a child in the past), and tested them with what if situations (what if there’s a fire, what if someone falls and gets hurt, etc.). We also discussed things like salary and when they could take time off, how long they plan to keep the job, etc.We talked with the prospective nannies about our children’s different needs and how they would feel if we had more children while they were still employed as well. If you have a child who needs help with homework during the day, I would also check and see if the nanny could or could not assist him/her with that. Also, if you have any children with special needs (the whole reason why WE hired a nanny in the first place I am a SAHM), obviously, inquire about that and discuss what role they would play in that child’s life or if they would be more involved with the other children.Basically, just don’t be afraid to ask anything that comes to your mind. Common sense qsuetions or anything else that you think of.We introduced our children to the candiates we felt good about. It’s always important to make sure the kids and nanny mesh and make sure everyone knows what they’re getting into.
