With 11 existing restaurants in Alabama and Colorado, Moe’s finally brings its concept back to the town where it all began. “My partner, Gabo Fernandez, learned to smoke meat fresh daily as taught by Tuscaloosa legend Moses Day and together they created the Moe’s concept right here in Tuscaloosa back in 1988. Eventually, they moved Moe’s into The Old Train Station, owned by Gabo’s brother, Mike. Later Mike, along with Huntsville native Jeff Kennedy and Athens, Alabama’s Ben Gilbert, ended up in Vail, Colorado where they reinvented Moe’s Original and made it the business success it is today,” said Moe’s co-owner John Moss, who also is a partner in Gallette’s and previously owned the Purple Fisch. “Being from Colorado and staying in Tuscaloosa after graduating from Bama, I am excited to showcase the two regions in the atmosphere at Moe’s.” Moe’s Original Bar B Que features award-winning Bama-style pulled pork, racks of ribs, and chicken smoked over hard wood served with two unique sauces plus eight to ten traditional Southern sides and tasty desserts. Today Moe’s has locations in Daphne, Fairhope, Orange Beach, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Lakeview and Birmingham, Alabama, Denver, Fort Collins, Eagle and Vail, Colorado.
