Joy of Sharing Holiday Program in Atlanta

The Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services invites you to participate in the Joy of Sharing Program. We need donors to assist in meeting the Holiday wishes of the 1,000 children in foster care who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. Wish lists for these children are filled through monetary donations, donated gifts or the combination of the two from companies, organizations and individuals.

When a child is matched with a donor, you will receive the child’s name, age and three items from his/her special “Wish List”. We request that all gifts be delivered from December 3rd-20th to our donation warehouse at 1218 Old Chattahoochee Ave. Additionally, monetary and gift card donations (Target, Old Navy, Blockbuster, Best Buy, etc) are needed to purchase gifts for children not matched and to meet their ongoing needs throughout the year.

There are Target coupons available, so people can be even more generous.

We need your assistance in making this a very special Holiday Season for the children. If you would like to sponsor a child where you will receive the child’s name, age and three items from their special “wish list” or need any further information, please do not hesitate to call Volunteer Resources Coordinator Delores S. Battle at 404-699-4387.

Donations and gifts are tax deductible.

JOS Logo_10

Margaret Barnhart, Ivy Bull, Lorrie Dixson, Elizabeth Farris, and JJ Tomlinson invite you to join us for our 10th Annual Joy of Sharing Holiday Party on Thursday, December 3rd at Smith’s Olde Bar. Every year we collect gifts for the often forgotten teenagers in foster care that have been removed from their homes due to neglect and/or abuse. To keep with the spirit of the holidays, we ask that everyone bring a new, unwrapped gift for a teenager. Wish lists include new clothes, sporting goods, games, cds, electronics and gift certificates (Target, Old Navy, GAP, Best Buy, etc.)

We’ll have complimentary appetizers provided by Smith’s & live music from Olde Dog plus a raffle & silent auction.

$10 admission with gift or $20. CASH & CHECKS ONLY for tickets, raffle and auction items. 100% of proceeds will go to the Fulton County DFCS’ Joy of Sharing Program. Cash Bar

If you would like to donate an item for the raffle or silent auction, please email Lorrie@eskimoadvertising.com. To sponsor a child where you will receive the child’s name, age and three items from their special “wish list”, please contact Delores Battle at 404-505-3767 or dsbattle@dhr.state.ga.us.
