Red Phone Booth Takes Cigar Enjoyment to the Next Level

Red Phone Booth has become an Atlanta hotspot where cigar enthusiasts can enjoy a wide variety of blends in an exclusive atmosphere. In developing the humidor selection of 100+ labels, this upscale cigar bar prioritized quality and desirability of the cigars over quantity of any one brand, therefore continually bringing in fresh new inventory. Red Phone Booth’s house cigar, the 18th Amendment, features a Brazilian Arapirca Maduro wrapper and a savory blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers to create a dark, medium bodied cigar. Red Phone Booth offers exclusive memberships to its guests, yet customers do not have to join to enjoy the prohibition experience.

With a strict bi-weekly maintenance schedule, air quality is a top priority at the Red Phone Booth. Extensive time, money and effort was placed to combat the smoke including  multiple large rooftop fresh-air units, micro-environment air scrubbers, and other additional temperature controlled fresh air intakes and exhausts. Red Phone Booth completely replaces the air in the space approximately every four minutes so guests can have maximum smoking enjoyment while relaxing in Italian wing back leather sofas with triple lumbar support.

“At the Red Phone Booth, it is part of our credo to exceed all guest expectations,” said Red Phone Booth Co-Founder/Operating Partner Steve de Haan.  “From the comfort of the seating to the training and knowledge of the staff as well as the quality of the air, it is all of these things and more that allow for us to deliver an unparalleled smoking experience for our guests.”

Located in the iconic Dailey’s building in downtown Atlanta, Red Phone Booth is a prohibition experience featuring not only an extensive cigar program but also a classic turn of the century craft cocktail selection. Patrons will notice the finest attention to detail that provides for exceptional cocktails including 100% fresh squeezed juices such as blood orange, mango, and cranberry, hand chipped double-reverse osmosis ice, garnishes cut to order, a collection of some of the rarest bourbon, whiskey and scotch selections available and over a dozen tinctures, bitters and flavoring agents to help breath new depth. Small plates featured include fresh seafood, carpaccio, Neapolitan pizza and house made desserts. In keeping with the speakeasy theme, guests enter by securing a secret phone number and dialing it into a restored antique London red phone booth entryway.

Burn Social Club Set to Open in Buckhead

Burn Social ClubOn July 15th, Andrews Entertainment District brings the fire to the ice by introducing Burn Social Club next to Czar Ice Bar, both located at 56 East Andrews Drive NW. Burn is a modern day supper club featuring light fares, flatbreads and signature dishes served Wednesday through Saturday for dinner from 7pm-11pm along with great boutique wines by the glass and craft beers. Led by master bartender Thomas McGuire, a world class craft cocktail program will showcase a flavored ice program including smoked ice featured in the Burn Old Fashioned as well as an extensive martini selection and over 50 rare bourbons, whiskies and scotches from around the world. Patrons will be entertained by live music & dancing beginning at 8pm until midnight and late night DJs from midnight to 2:30am. Wednesday is Latin Elegance Salsa night, Thursday features the sounds from the Atlanta Rat Pack night while Friday and Saturday has Burn’s own high energy house band Cinnamon Groove playing top 10 hits from the 80s until today. With no cover during dinner, Burn Social Club’s admission is $10 after 10pm. Gentlemen are required to wear collared shirts and encouraged to wear jackets.

The 4000 square foot space can seat approximately 150 patrons throughout the venue with three levels of seating. Guests will enter through Czar Ice Bar where a discreetly marked door shows the Burn flaming martini icon. Once inside, there is a large stage with a centerpiece fireplace, and exposed brick walls, LED lighting and state of the art sound. While high top tables surround the dance floor, a large dramatic bar with a hand painted ceiling in oranges, reds and yellows further enhance the fire feeling of Burn. Across the room is a plush seating lounge with black leather sofas, sophisticated crystal chandeliers, fireplace, and library wall.

Burn Tapas“Inspired by the supper clubs of the 30s and 40s, Burn is a true social club where guests gather to socially eat and drink, be entertained and enjoy the company of friends,” said Andrews Entertainment District President Steve de Haan. “Burn was created as a nightlife alternative.  Atlanta doesn’t lack for places to take a date for dinner, but does not have many upscale venues to go to after dinner where the energy is high, yet is still intimate enough to carry on a conversation.  A place to be entertained by true performers, and not just musicians, our goal is to marry the timeless sophistication of Prohibition with premier entertainment and dancing.”

After hosting a media tasting, the reviews were phenomenal proving Stillhouse is a success for Craft Burgers and Moonshine in Atlanta!

Amateur Gastronomer: Stillhouse: Craft Burgers and Moonshine Now Open in Buckhead

Atlanta’s destination for moonshine is now open – no lawbreaking required. Stillhouse is the newest restaurant to open in the Andrews Entertainment District. It is a great spot for a night out, offering moonshine on its own or in cocktails, and a menu to rival any of Atlanta’s burger-centric spots. READ MORE

ACVB’s ATL Insider: Stillhouse: Culinary Game Changer

If you think Atlanta has enough hamburger places – well, think again. Stillhouse Craft Burgers & Moonshine has moved into Buckhead, and it’s a culinary game changer. ATL Food Snob: Stillhouse – Burgers & Moonshine Make a Formidable Pair

Do you like big juicy burgers with creative toppings and fillings? Do you like moonshine (who doesn’t these days)? Do you like an eating establishment within a stones throw of several specialty drinking establishments? If you answered yes to any or all of these, the recently opened Stillhouse Craft Burgers & Moonshine restaurant might just be for you. I recently attended a media dinner (which I don’t do often) and came away impressed with their selection of moonshine (over 50 different brands, mainly from Georgia) and the flavor combinations of the burgers. The one thing that is painfully obvious from the moment a two patty behemoth, loaded with toppings, hits your plate is that it’s impossible to eat like a normal burger…unless you can unhinge your jaw. This is the Spicy Memphis Pork burger and while it’s damn tasty, it’s a little hard to eat. The only other issue I have is with the reversed bun, which while unique is not functional as it must be removed and inverted. READ MORE

Atlanta Restaurant Blog: Stillhouse: Craft Burgers + Moonshine Opens in East Andrews

It seems every time I turn around, they are opening up a new spot at East Andrews. Is there a secret portal that makes it bigger than it looks that allows them to keep adding new spots? Besides Cellar 56Czar Ice Bar, Prohibition, the Improv Comedy Club, now there’s Stillhouse: Moonshine and Craft Burgers. We attended the media night to sample some of the tasty burgers and expertly crafted cocktails. READ MORE

THYME TO SHINE

THYME TO SHINE

William Faulkner once said, “Well, between Scotch and nothin’, I suppose I’d take Scotch. It’s the nearest thing to good moonshine I can find.”  He could find plenty of the good stuff at Stillhouse, the new Buckhead eatery specializing in craft burgers and moonshine. My husband had more discussion with our server, Gabe, over the varieties of moonshine available than he ever did with a sommelier about wine. Moonshine here is made into cocktails, infused with flavors and even smoked with fresh apple, cherry, pecan, and maple wood chips.  READ MORE

Kitchen Casual: Stillhouse — Where the cocktails shine

As you might be able to tell from the title of this post, I am talking about Stillhouse, a new cocktail bar and burger joint in the East Andrews part of Buckhead. My friend Lauren from Pretty Southern invited me to their media event last week so of course I jumped at the chance to go with her. I got there first and sat at the bar and immediately began chatting with the bartender. Part of what Stillhouse is known for is their housemade moonshine. Some people hear “moonshine” and think of people in the country during Prohibition drinking high-proof booze out of mason jars. This is not that kind of moonshine. READ MORE

Marie, Let’s Eat: Stillhouse Craft Burgers & Moonshine

One of the most pleasant surprises that we’ve had in recent months has been our visit to Stillhouse, where we were anticipating some pretty good bar burgers and were given, instead, some downright excellent ones. The restaurant’s PR company invited us to their media launch last month and we left very impressed. The Andrews Entertainment District, where Stillhouse can be found, is a collection of eight venues within one strip mall shell. It’s the building next door to the one where Souper Jenny resides, and is also home to the well-known Cellar 56 and Czar Ice Bar. Marie and I got to speak a little bit with Stephen de Haan, president of the 23 year-old enterprise, about Stillhouse and where he got the incredibly curious idea of smoked moonshine. READ MORE

Out and About Atlanta: Stillhouse: Upside Down Buns and Krispy Kreme ‘Shine

Burgers, burgers everywhere! You’ve got the onslaught of Flip, Yeah Burger, Grind House, and a ton of other smaller joints. It seems the craft burger bandwagon is in full-swing and I love it! In the Andrews Entertainment District, they have a lot of different types of food to offer including tapas, sushi, and pub food, but something I thought that they always did well were their burgers. John and I stop by Stout for a burger about every month so for them to open a burger only place seems like the right thing to do and Stillhouse won’t disappoint. READ MORE

Pretty Southern: Stillhouse Gets Its ‘Shine On!

The management team at East Andrews in the heart of the Buckhead bar scene has taken their massive complex and transformed it into several fabulous creative concepts. In one shared space, y’all have Cellar 56, East Andrews Upstairs, Prohibition, Stout, Czar Ice Bar, the Improv Comedy Club, and now Stillhouse. It’s a welcome addition to the scene serving up custom moonshine cocktails which pack a punch in the most delicious way, followed by a Southern-inspired menu to soak it all up. READ MORE

Yesterday I stopped by this new bar over on East Andrews for a media tasting. Not necessarily a combination you hear about often, but the folks at Stillhouse have produced a cool experience pairing the two together. Serving all of the moonshine available in Georgia, Stillhouse has created a menu full creative cocktails. Stillhouse Set to Open in Atlanta with Craft Burgers and Moonshine

Andrews Entertainment District is set to add Stillhouse to its impressive hospitality destination at 56 East Andrews Drive in Buckhead on Friday, August 30th. Using all of the moonshines available in Georgia, Stillhouse derives its name from its in-house cocktail program where moonshine is employed as the base ingredient to create classic cocktails. The carefully crafted cocktail menu is complemented by the ultimate burger experience with locally sourced ingredients and inspired toppings.

4 wayStillhouse offers a modern twist on burgers that set the standard and go to the extreme to taste the best. Applying regionally sourced products, baking cheeses onto buns and using house made condiments make the burgers stand out. Craft burgers selections include premium varieties of grass fed beef, mustard and Memphis pork, Coca-Cola teriyaki moonshine marinated chicken, seared turkey, fresh ground duck with house made confit, lump crab cakes, Apalachicola fried oysters and remarkable vegetarian options such as the Black eyed pea burger. Additional menu items include small plates, salads and shared sides consisting of deviled eggs, moonshine mussels, fried oysters, collard greens, spicy macaroni & cheese, fried green tomatoes, peanut butter hummus and more. Guests can dine inside, on the terrace or takeaway until late Monday through Saturday from 5pm until 1:30am.

At Stillhouse, the moonshine cocktail program is served in a variety of ways to enjoy the distilled sensation. Using six charred oak barrels prominently featured on the back bar, the month aged spirits are second to none. Served straight or in a cocktail, the moonshine infusions combine regional ingredients such as Vidalia onions, Georgia peaches, watermelon, mint and more so flavors are balanced and shine. Guests may also choose to smoke their spirit or cocktail with fresh apple, cherry, pecan, and maple wood chips. Stimulating garnishes including local berries, freshly squeezed juices, bitters and house made syrups ensure smooth, flavorsome cocktails. Additional bar options include a small but carefully selected list that features beer staples and regional microbrews, top wine sellers and an American craft selection of liquors such as the award-winning Boyd & Blair Vodka.

“We love the history and flavor of moonshine. It took finding the right balance of ingredients to get an approachable but complex cocktail that pleases the palate,” said Andrews Entertainment District President Steve de Haan. “Furthermore, we felt moonshine paired nicely with our amazing regionally sourced burgers to create an upscale burger bar.”

As guests enter Stillhouse, they will notice the natural materials, black and white prints of stills, bootleggers, and moonshiners. Adjacent to the back bar are two lit chalk board menus and daily specials. The space is warmed up with custom made Edison pendant lights and includes booths and whiskey barrel tables with custom tops. The ceiling has antiqued copper drop tiles alluding to the stills used to create this storied spirit. Featuring natural stone floors, a large wooden beam back bar and hammered copper accents on the bar, Stillhouse allows Buckhead’s elite an evening out without the pretentiousness.
